Fixed: OBDSTAR “Login account does not match the serial number”

Problem: Users attempting to log in to their OBDSTAR X300 PRO4 device may encounter the following error message: “The login account does not match the serial number of the current device. Please change the account and try again!”

 

This issue prevents access to the tool’s functions and typically occurs when an existing account is used on a new or different device.

 

Solution
The OBDSTAR requires a unique account registration per device. If you are setting up a new unit, you must create a new account — even if you already have an account from a previous OBDSTAR tool such as the X300 Classic G3, X300 MINI PSA or iScan Pro Mercruiser.

 

Steps to resolve:

  1. Do not reuse old login credentials.
  2. Register a new account specifically for your X300 PRO4 using the device’s serial number.
  3. Complete the activation process through the official OBDSTAR registration portal.
  4. Log in with the newly created account only.

 

Note: Each OBDSTAR device is bound to one account only. Using an account linked to another tool will trigger the serial number mismatch error.
