This Toyota airbag ECU stored a crash record that could not be cleared through normal DTC erasure.
Using OBDSTAR P50, the encrypted CYT2B93BAC airbag module was repaired on the bench and the crash data was successfully removed.
Bench Setup
Prepare the following equipment:
High-power DC power supply
Main cable
Jumper wires
C4-06 Adapter Kit
Toyota airbag ECU (CYT2B93BAC)
Check Video Tutorial:
- Navigate to:
Crash Reset → Airbag Reset → Latest Version → SRS - Search for the target airbag model and select TOYOTA 89170-02Y10 (DENSO) CYT2B93BAC.
- Tap Start → BENCH → P004 → OK.
- Refer to Guide and Connector Pinout, then connect the ECU according to the displayed wiring diagram.
Confirm Crash Record
- Tap ECU Info. and verify the part number.
- Select Read DTC and confirm that a crash record is stored in the module.
- Attempt Erase DTC. The operation fails because the crash data is still present.
Erase Crash Data
- Enter Erase Crash and tap Start.
- Wait for the procedure to complete.
- Confirm the message indicating that the crash data has been successfully cleared.
Clear DTCs and Verify
- Follow the on-screen prompt to switch the ignition off, wait 30 seconds, then switch it back on and tap OK.
- Return to Erase DTC and clear the fault codes.
- Use Read DTC to confirm that no crash-related DTCs remain.
Verification
The crash record is removed, DTC erasure completes successfully, and the airbag ECU reports no remaining fault codes.
